JO Quals

Because the Mt Hood pool is closed for renovations, we were unable to host the Junior Olympics Qualifier, as we've done in the past, which meant this year we had to travel up to Tacoma, WA, for the tournament. We rented an Air B&B with a couple other families (just the boys and their dads, plus an extra boy), and stayed there three nights. It was a fun weekend, and the boys did well. It was the first time they'd played all together, and we were happy with how they played. We got to know some of the other parents who are newer, and the boys' team qualified for the Junior Olympics in Los Angeles in July.

On the last night, the team had dinner at one of the boys' grandma's house. She lives 30 minutes away from where we were, and she graciously offered to host a pizza party for the team and for us parents. The last morning were were there happened to be Father's Day. It was a little funny that it was me and a bunch of dads and their sons. We had a delicious breakfast at The Homestead restaurant, a local family owned business that had cinnamon rolls the size of your face. I had one, and it was amazing!

We got home that night in time to go to Gresham Burrito with the kids to celebrate Father's Day together. Great ending to a great weekend.
