Family Photos at the Pooh-Stick Park

Hannah at Worlds Apart Photography did our family photos once again, and I couldn't be happier. She works magic, I tell you! So many great shots! She captured us well, weirdness and all.  I will treasure these photos and the memories they hold.

I used to take the kids to this park all the time when they were little. They called it the "Target Park" because it's near Target. They loved playing "Pooh sticks" on the bridge (throwing a stick off one side and running to the other side to watch it float by--it's from Winnie-the-Pooh"). I love that we went back there for family photos now that they're "big."

The Moffat Graves

The “Moffat Graves” crack me up every time mow the lawn. I noticed today that the small creature cemetery had grown, and then I remembered the kids asking for salt. At least those slugs received a proper burial. May “Shrinkety Flubber,” “Mickey Icky,” and all the others who have met their demise on our street rest in peace. ðŸ˜‚ I love our little neighborhood crew.

First Days of School

Kari, Aubrey, and Grant all went to school the Tuesday after Labor Day, but Joel had an extra day of summer. Grandma Moffat took him to Shoot 360 in the morning, and then he got to go with his friends to Wunderland and play laser tag.

Kari's first day of high school was a success! She talked for 20 minutes, telling Greg and I all about her first day, her classes, and who she talked with. Aubrey and Grant's first days went well, too! Joel's first day of school went well, so we thought, until 15 minutes after he went to bed and came out and said he needed to tell us about something that happened at school. Turns out, a girl at school, who apparently likes Joel, went around with her friends, telling everyone that she and Joel were dating. He didn't like it and didn't know what to do about it. Poor guy! We were relieved to know that that's all he was worried about, and that it was nothing more serious! This, we could deal with. We asked questions and talked things through with him, giving him some ideas of things he could say and do. Greg told him to use humor and say, "Well, I am pretty likeable, so I can see why she likes me, but no, we're not dating." Ha! He used a version of that line the next day and hasn't had a problem with her since. ;-)

The Night Before School

Italian sodas and “Survivor” on this last night of summer. Turns out, lunch-making is just as loathsome in September as it is in June. Only 180 more days of lunches!

(Oreo is hilarious in this photo, on his favorite lap.)
