4th of July

We threw together a barbecue on July 3rd for July 4th at our house. :) We had such a good time--good food, good company, good weather, good fireworks! Our neighborhood is crazy and lights off all kinds of huge, illegal fireworks. It was quite the show after dark.

Disneyland Day Five and then home

Day 5: Cold medicine run for Kari this morning helped her quite a bit. Breakfast at Flo's in Carsland (and Joel dancing with his Flo's dancing lady), Toy Story Mania (no line), CA Screamin' (2x in a row--no line!). Everyone but Aubs wanted to do Guardians again, so while they fastpassed that, she and I rode Racers twice as brave single-riders. Mickey sourdough loaf snack got added to the ultimate fanny. Got wet on Grizzly twice, flew on Soarin' one last time, then headed over to Disneyland for the rest of the day. We finally bit the bullet and waited in the long Peter Pan line, only to have it break down partway through. Grant and I dangled in the air over Neverland in the "boat" for 10 minutes before they got us off. It's really not pretty with the lights on and no music. Peter Pan fail. Splash Mt success 2x. Thunder Mt and Matterhorn one more time each. Squeezed in another parade viewing at Grant's request and then took a nice break (and power nap for Grant) in the air-conditioned Lincoln show (Greg's request). Indiana Jones, ice cream bars, and a quick pool dip finished our day. A couple kid meltdowns today and some tired, sore bodies. Guess it was time to head home! What an amazing trip, though! So many fun memories for our family.

Disneyland Day Four

Day 4 in both parks--Racers again, Soarin' again, boardwalk games and winnings added to the ultimate fanny, Spider Venom shaved ice, Grizzly River (that's 5x!), Dole pineapple whip, all three "mountains" again (so many times!), tried "The Grey Stuff" (It's delicious ;-)😉...), Star Tours (4x?), met Darth Vader and Chewbacca (my favorite moment of the day--hilarious), another fun parade (in the hot ☀️), dinner and jazz, Small World, and ice cream to end the day. The longest ride we waited for was the shuttle back to the hotel (already strategizing to improve on that for next trip). Kari powered through with a bad cold that day. One one more full day of magic!
