We had such a nice week with Kari home, sunshine, Thanksgiving, and tree-fetching. We got our tree the day after Thanksgiving, as usual. Kari flew back to CBU on Saturday, so we had to do most of the decorating without her. I took photos to show her we did get our house put back together and decorated.
Three kids down. One more to go! There was a mix up the morning of her appointment, which caused some stress We got to the doctor's office, and they did not have Aubrey on the schedule. I was NOT happy. I'd taken two days off work and arranged for a sub, and I did not want that all to be for nothing. I had the documents showing they scheduled her for that day, but someone in their office never got it into their computer system, like they were supposed to. Thankfully, they made it work and squeezed her in, and we only had to wait about 30 minutes more before they called her back.
Aubrey was absolutely silent the entire drive home after her surgery. She got in the car, put on my old sunglasses, and didn't say a word.
We took the Moffat Rooter Van to the state water polo championships. The girls were playing for 3rd place and the boys for 1st. The girls didn’t get the win they wanted, but they played hard and earned 4th place. So proud of Aubrey and her team! Aubrey had tears afterward, not really because of the loss, but because this was the last time playing with her cousin. That got me. Tears.
And then we watched the most exciting, stressful, and close game ever, when the boys won the state title after OT and “golden goal” (first to score). This is a special group of boys who have played together for up to eight years. They wanted it so much, and we wanted it for them! It was a sweet, sweet victory! What a day!

We are excited to cheer on both boys and girls water polo teams at state. Such a great group of kids, great families, and amazing coaches! It’s been fun for Aubrey to play on the team with her super-star cousin, Maggie, too. Proud of your hard work this season, Aubs. Let’s go, Barlow! 💙💛
