I was invited to the Barlow football dinner at the end of their season, not knowing what it was or what it was for, but I wanted to support them, so I went. I had no idea that I was invited by a specific player who had chosen me as the staff member he wanted to honor and thank. Eli, a student I had in English 5-6 last year, chose me, and gave me a Barlow football jersey with his number on it, along with a very sweet thank you note. I was so surprised and honored. What a wonderful gesture and a wonderful gift! I wore his jersey with pride the next day.
