Maggie's Murder Mystery Party

Joel won the award for best actor in the roll of nerdy prom court guy. The kids had so much fun. Maggie's party was a huge hit. Joel looked awesome! :)

Wind, smoke, and fire

The drive home from Sunriver got smokier and smokier, the closer we got to home. That was we had a huge wind storm. We never lost power, but the house where Kari was house-sitting did. And our neighbors had a tree fall on the next door neighbor's car. A bunch of neighborhood guys came out to help chop it up and get it off the car. Thankfully, it was mostly just scratches and not major damage, and no one was hurt. I went for a walk the next morning and saw a big tree had fallen on the bridge across the creek.

The air quality got worse and worse, and we were all housebound (even more than we have been), unable to go outside. The start of school was delayed another week due to wildfires affecting so many people in our community.

With local communities on high alert and some having to evacuate due to the fires, we had some conversations with the kids about what we would take if we ever had to evacuate (the fires were about 10 miles away, so we were not really in danger). Grant's response was, "Well, of course, I'd need to bring Sir Paws," only the largest stuffed animal he owns. :-)

Sunriver with Moffats

 FB Post

We’re heading home after a wonderful weekend with family in Sunriver—bike riding, games, geo-caching, karaoke, cousin time, and lots of laughter. My heart is full and thankful for this time God gave us together and that Greg was able to join in the fun, too. He finished the first round of chemo, and it was pretty rough by the end. Turns out, chemo is nasty stuff no matter what form it takes. This last week was his “off” week of recovery, and at the beginning of the week, we weren’t sure he’d be feeling well enough to do anything, but God was gracious and allowed the effects to subside enough for him to be able to do most of what he wanted to do this weekend. It was so good to see him having fun and laughing with his family. You could pray for us as he starts his next round tomorrow. Driving back home feels like driving back to the heavy, hard stuff. This weekend was a true gift! Thank you,
Mark Shari Moffat
, for making it happen!
