He's a schemer

Joel has figured out how to work the lunchtime system at school. He told us he started sitting at the "girl" table because they're quieter and get dismissed for recess sooner than the kids at the rowdier "boy" table. He says the girls eat slower, but if he and his friends (a couple other boys started sitting with him) eat fast and put their heads down (apparently the signal that they're done), they get to go out to recess before the kids at the other table, even though the other kids eat quickly and are ready sooner.  He's quiet, but he's a thinker! :) And he really likes recess.

That's cute! I forgot to tell you that I was with the boys and Hannah at McDonalds on Sunnyside road two weeks ago and there was a boy that looked so much like Joel! I actually took a picture of him, I'll have to show you sometime! He was a nice boy too, kept asking Elijah to play with him.

I'd say he's a smart boy. It's all about recess for boys.

I just read this to Ben and now we know why Colby is bringing home is lunch and eating it right when he walks in the door. Except he has been telling us that they don't have enough time to eat. Hmmmm:) Those boys have been taking a little break from chasing girls though. To cute.

That's funny, Tera. It's been fun to hear Joel talk about playing with his friend, Colby, and I'm glad Joel's not the only boy at the "girl" table. :)
