Kari and Joel think it's summer time because the sun came out. I admit 54 degrees does feel pretty warm after the cold weather we've had. They asked to wear short-sleeves and shorts/a skirt, and I let them pick out their outfits but made them put on a coat before they went outside to be superheros.
Soon coats were abandoned, and they were able to run uninhibited, capes a'flyin'.

that is great...did you make those capes?
Yep, made them last year.
I was bummed my kids missed out on the great weather b/c they are sick, but I still managed to get outside myself while they were watching a movie. I didn't wear a cape, though, maybe next time!
Every time the sun warms up our family room (and it can cook in the afternoon), Jackson informs me "itsasunnyday!" And then begs me to pull out the slip and slide. Can't tell you how many times I have explained the seasons to him, but the timeline eludes him completely.
Be thankful your kids are asking for short sleeves, and not the sprinkler.
