The Flu

Turns out, Joel wasn't feeling well because he was sick with influenza B. :( The poor kid is just getting beat down. First the broken ankle, then the flu. The day after Christmas, he was miserable, had thrown up in the night, and had a fever over 103. I took him in to the dr, and they prescribed Tamiflu, in hopes of shortening the duration of his illness. He made me laugh while we were waiting to see the pediatrician, though. He did not appreciate this sign on their wall. Incredulous, he said, “Why do they have THAT in here?!” (He did get a flu shot this last fall.)

He had a high fever for several days and was in bed or on the couch all day every day. Grant took advantage of the down-time to have a Star Wars marathon. We had gone to see the last, newest movie in the theater on Monday, and in three days time, he had watched all 8 other movies in the series. It was quite the accomplishment.
