Aubrey's 8th Birthday

My FB post on her birthday:
"Aubrey turns 8 years old today. She's a friend-loving, bright-smiling, feelings-sharing, twinkle-eyed, basketball-and-soccer-playing, let's-do-hair-and-nails-girly-girl (the more sparkle, the better). She is sweet and spirited. We're so thankful for our Aubs!"

Aubrey had her family party before her birthday and her friend party after. She got to have a birthday week! And then, the day before her birthday breakfast, Grandpa had to go up to Alaska for a funeral, so her breakfast was postponed for two weeks. She got to celebrate again!

She loved the robe we gave her, and she wore it for the whole rest of the party. :) She decided she didn't want cake this year (easier for me!), so we had brownie and ice cream sundaes for dessert.

Her friend party consisted of the same crew as last year--a great group of girls. It was a pajama party, like a sleepover but without the sleeping-over part. They ate pizza, worked on a craft, got their nails painted, had ice cream sundaes, and watched an American Girl movie. Parents came at 9pm to pick up their girls, and we all got to have a good night's rest! It was perfect. :)

Kari and Ellie kindly agreed to help me paint nails. It was helpful to me, and the younger girls loved having them there.
