First High School Polo For Grant

Fun weekend of water polo with Grant. He scored his first high school goal yesterday. All those years of club polo are finally paying off. He’s been waiting so long for his turn at Barlow, and it’s finally here. Glad he has three more years, because I love watching him play.

(Aren't those roses gorgeous?! We had some time to waste between games in Newberg, so we drove to Washington Square Mall so I could try on glasses at the Warby Parker store, and the Portland Rose Society happened to be set up in the mall, showcasing their prize-winning blooms.)

First Days of School

First day of high school for Grant 🎉, and Aubrey made first day of school cookies.

Aubrey’s last first day of school! (Photo by Grant. I forgot to ask him to take it, but he knew I’d want it and did it without my request. 🥰) Senior year, here we come! 💙💛

Party of 4

Back down to a party of four. The six of us went out to breakfast Friday, said our goodbyes after the football game last night, and then Kari and Joel drove off on their own early this morning, heading back down to CBU, Kari in her last year and Joel in his second. Soon, the rest of us will be packing those lunch boxes on the top of the fridge (Greg would be quick to point out that he never stopped packing his lunch. 😏) Last weekend of summer!

25th Anniversary

Celebrated our anniversary tonight—Monday, August 25th, will be 25 years! Monday is when I have to go back to work, though, so we went out tonight. I am so thankful to get to do life with this man. Thank you, Lord, for giving me a faithful husband who is a great father, supports me in my work and home projects, takes his faith seriously, serves others well, kills spiders for me, and makes me laugh. I have been richly blessed. May we have many, many more anniversaries to celebrate, and may at least one of them be back in Maui!

Summer winding down

The last days of summer are upon us. Kari and Joel are gearing up to head back to school soon, and Aubrey and Grant have been going to polo daily doubles together, getting in shape for the fall season. Grant is the only freshman on varsity! We're excited to watch them play.

I went into my new classroom to finish setting up the room, to get things up on the walls, and get ready for the new school year. I'm so happy to have windows this year.

We helped out with the Powell Valley clean-up, and Aubrey washed cars with her tennis team to fundraise for their next season. Soaking up the last bits of summer.
