Last Week of School

The last week of school was super full with lots going on. Monday was Grant's 8th grade promotion. Tuesday was graduation. Wednesday we had a grad party to go to. Thursday was the staff golf event at Edgefield. Friday was my last day of work, moving out of my classroom into a room down the hall, and then a grad party that night.

Aubrey and her chatty pre-calc friends made Mrs. Holliday a cake, which she loved. We teased her that it looked like a Pinterest fail, but it was the thought that counted.

Moving classrooms was a bigger chore than I anticipated. Thankfully, a few coworkers helped me move all the boxes down the hall, and Aubrey and Grant came and helped move boxes and bookshelves, too. The speech and debate rooms off my classroom were a total mess with hundreds of trophies, dating back to the 1970's, on every surface. Kari came the next week and sorted and organized the trophies into one room. It looks so much better! I spent several days that next week painting bookshelves and unpacking my room in between Grant's tennis and water polo camp drop offs and pick ups.  I didn't put everything up on the walls because the custodians will be coming in to clean and touch up paint, but I got enough done that I won't be stressing as much about it anymore.

Time for summer!
