We braved the heat (95 degrees) and went on the church campout at Oxbow park. We patched up the tent (ax-throwing mishap with the teenage boys who used our tent last summer), got another weekend out of the good ol' Taj-Ma-Faht.
Setting up the tent that first night in the heat of the day was brutal, and that whole first evening was pretty miserable with no escape from the heat. I was not in good spirits. I drove the Pate family to the airport that next morning (they were all headed to Disneyland and needed a ride), and I decided to stop at home to get a shower and use a real toilet before I picked them up. That was a very good idea!
That next day ended up being a lot of fun, though. It was still pretty hot, but we went to the river for a couple hours, which saved us. Greg and Aubrey left late that night, as they had to work Monday morning, so it was up to Joel, Kari, Grant, and I to tear down. They were a huge help and did most of the work. The kids had a fun time, and it was deemed a successful weekend.
