July flew by. We were so busy doing fun things and preparing to do fun things that I never took the time to sit down and write about the things we'd done! It's catch up time. The week after we got back from Sisters, Kari and Joel went to tennis camp, three hours each morning for four days. It was Kari's third year and Joel's second. They learned a lot and had a really good time doing it. Coach Pate knows how to do a tennis camp!

The next week was the most full week of the kids' summer. They went to VBS every morning until 12:30pm and then had "rocket camp" in the afternoons from 1:30pm to 4:00pm. I don't have any photos from VBS, but the kids loved it. Grace Community Church does an amazing job with their VBS. This was Kari and Joel's second year going. Aubrey was able to go, too, much to her surprise and delight, so Grant and I hung out and ran errands that week in preparation of our camping trip and his upcoming birthday party. Rocket camp was the brain child of Uncle Eric. He put the whole thing on in their backyard, helped the kids build their rockets, taught them about rockets and the science behind them, and then we all got to go watch them launch their rockets on the final night. Such a great experience for the kids. Eric put a lot of time and effort into it and did a great job.

Greg put together and installed a watering system and automatic timer for my garden planter boxes, which has been WONDERFUL (we don't have to remember to water), and then he added more line and rigged up some misters for the trampoline. Our backyard gets very hot in the full sun, and the kids haven't liked to jump on the trampoline when it's warm out, but they do now! :)

They were running back and forth from the trampoline to the little pool. Great summer time fun. |
