Greg and I got up early to go do some Black Friday shopping together. We made to Freddy's by 5am and were on our way out with a whole lot of socks when we got an phone call from the kid phone--never a good sign before 6am. It was Kari. Aubrey had thrown up. We rushed back in time to help with clean up (not bad--she hit the bucket), and Greg stayed home with her while I headed back out to shop. Kari decided she'd like to come with me since we was awake, so we spend the next five hours shopping and finding deals. We had a great time together. Aubrey, as it turns out, was fine after her one episode and had likely just eaten too many olives the day before on Thanksgiving.
We had a quick little visit from the Roberts family and Grandpa and Grandma M, and then we drove out to find our Christmas tree. It's not my favorite tree ever (that was last year's tree). It's uneven, sparse towards the bottom, and it was expensive ($40!)! It was raining, and I agreed to just pick one out at this farm so we wouldn't have to keep looking. Next year we'll find a better (and hopefully cheaper) one. There's something magical about kids running through a tree farm, though. I love this tree-fetching tradition.
