FB Post July 13--The surgeon called with pathology results. It’s good news!! They were able to collect 56 lymph nodes (17 or 18 is considered a good sampling), and ZERO had cancer in them. Praising God and crying in relief. The cancer had gone past the lining of the colon into the tissue surrounding, which puts Greg at a slightly higher risk, but they took all that tissue out and felt they got a good margin. We see the oncologist on Friday to discuss next steps, if any are needed. This is the best result we could have asked for.
Greg is doing well and recovering a little more each day. Today’s news is just a huge relief. He can concentrate on healing now without that big unknown hanging over him. With all the difficult news these days, I’m happy to be able to share something good today!
