Greg had two company holidays for the 4th this year, so the 3rd was a day of family fun. We started it off well with a stop at Joe's Donuts on the way to our destination.
We drove up to the Sandy Fish Hatchery, took a look around at the educational signs and saw the fish, then headed past the hatchery and down a trail that we heard about from Mom and Dad M. that leads down to where Cedar Creek runs into the Sandy River. It was a beautiful day for a little hike and a great day to play in the water.
Later that day Greg forced Grant onto the trail-a-bike, trying to get him comfortable enough on it for our trip to Sunriver. Grant was terrified he was going to fall and had a death grip on those handlebars.
The kids have a list of things they want to do this summer, and sleep in the backyard was one of them. We said, "yes," only to remember at 9:30pm that we made this same mistake last year. The neighborhood always starts in on their fireworks a day early. Joel ended up coming inside around 10pm--too loud for him--but the rest of them stayed out there all night.
