Other June Happenings

 Peonies bloomed this year!

Grant and Russell were matching at church one Sunday.

Laps full of kitties.

One sad kitty who had to wear a cone of shame for a week after she got fixed.

Youth group "summer of story" fun

Relaxing in the hammock

Grant fishing in the boat with Grandpa. He finally has success and caught a fish, six to be exact.

Joel NOE Mexico Trip

Joel really enjoyed going back to NOE in Mexico, reconnecting with friends from last year and making new connections, too. They visited a school, went to a village where NOE is planning to build a new center, helped with English classes, and Joel even helped run a kids basketball camp. It sounded like a great trip! Joel was able to use his God-given gifts and skills to serve others. We're thankful for opportunities like this to grow our kids' faith and broaden their Christian world view.

Tennis Academy

Grant joined Pate's tennis academy again this year and improved his tennis skills so much in those 6 weeks! One Saturday match was so much fun, they had to take a photo afterward. Grant and Reagan were partners, and all four of the kids were laughing and talking and just having so much fun playing.

Last Days of School

The end of the school year finally arrived! I went to graduation and wished the seniors well on their next steps. Grant finished his school year first, a day ahead of Aubrey and Joel and two days ahead of me and my last day of work. Kari and Aubrey made last-day-of-school cookies to celebrate.

On my last day of work I wrapped things up as quickly as I could in the morning, and then Aubrey and Grant went and picked strawberries with me. We celebrated with MOD pizza for dinner and strawberry shortcake for dessert later that night. Joel was at a basketball tournament, so he didn't get to join us.

I'm so thankful for a break and time to relax and unwind after a crazy busy year, my first full year of teaching full-time. I'm taking 14 credits of online classes to get over to the end of the pay scale, but I'm hoping to get them done by the first part of July, so I can have as much down time as possible this summer.
