Aubrey learned how to ride her bike two weeks ago. We tried to teach her last year, but she wasn't quite ready. She was very ready this time. Greg didn't have to hold onto her seat for too long before she figured out how to balance. She's pretty proud of herself!
She's growing and learning so much right now. She learned to ride her bike and tie her shoes in the same week. Yes, we have been negligent and didn't teach our kindergartener to tie her shoes before she started school. Third born... She's got it down now, though!
Aubrey has really improved in her reading lately, too. It's like something just "clicked," and she's reading all kinds of things, blowing through her Bob books and moving on to books that look good to her (princesses and such). I'm really excited that she can read some of those on her own now. I really don't like reading character books. So, so boring! I call them "look at" books. Now she can read them herself!

Easter
Happy Resurrection Day!
We had a good Easter Sunday at church and spent the afternoon with the Moffats this year. A good day all around.

dying eggs Friday evening |
We didn't end up with mostly brown eggs this year! |
We rolled the stone in front of the "tomb" on Friday and rolled it away this morning. |
We stopped at the park near G&G's house on our way home. The kids ran, played, rolled down the hill, and got out some energy. We even saw some baby ducks and some goslings at the pond. |

Aprl Fools
I saw this idea a while ago and decided I had to do it. Even though it had been a bit of a rough evening with the kids, and I was feeling crummy with a sinus infection, I rallied, mustered up the energy to get out the wiggly eyes and glue, and got to work. The kids' reactions and giggles made it totally worth the effort.
